Turkish crypto platform Paribu marks Bitcoin Pizza Day with a campaign offering 350 TL food vouchers through Yemeksepeti, blending crypto culture and consumer rewards.
Turkish crypto exchange Paribu is once again marking Bitcoin Pizza Day, the anniversary of the first recorded real-world transaction using Bitcoin, with a large-scale promotional campaign. Between May 19 and 22, eligible users will receive one of 100,000 pizza vouchers, each worth 350 TL, redeemable on the local food delivery app Yemeksepeti.
The campaign celebrates the now-legendary event of May 22, 2010, when developer Laszlo Hanyecz famously paid 10,000 BTC for two large pizzas—a milestone that has since become a fixture in global crypto culture.
Paribu, a blockchain-based platform that has been active since 2017 and is one of the driving forces in Turkey’s crypto ecosystem, launched the campaign with a humorous new advertisement. Returning from last year’s viral hit, the ad once again features the “talking pizza,” now reimagined as an armored pizza riding a horse, leading an army of 100,000 pizzas set to be “heroically devoured” by users.
The character is voiced by Turkish actor Kıvanç Kılınç, who reprises his role from the 2023 campaign. The creative concept was developed by Diego Armando, the agency behind several of Paribu’s past cultural crossovers.
Dates: Codes are available in the Paribu app from 19–22 May
Value: Each code is worth 350 TL, redeemable via Yemeksepeti
Deadline: Codes can be used until 31 May 2025
To receive a code, users must meet specific participation criteria within the app. While the campaign is rooted in crypto history, it serves as a high-visibility effort to connect blockchain culture with everyday life, particularly among Turkey’s digitally active and food-delivery-savvy population.
