While unemployment has fallen in European economies that have seen the highest inflation rates in years, difficulties in accessing skilled labour have become persistent. Three quarters of employers in 21 European countries had difficulty finding qualified employees with the right skills in 2023. Payrolling / Payroll companies, which are the solution to the need for qualified employment, enable highly qualified foreign employees to join the workforce in Europe in a very short time. Turkey is at the forefront of countries providing this human resource.

TURKEY - Despite signs of normalisation in European countries affected by the global inflation trend, difficulties in accessing skilled labour remained persistent. A study published in mid-March found that three-quarters (75 per cent) of employers in 21 European countries are struggling to find qualified employees with the right skills in 2023. Ireland, the UK, Spain, France, France and the Netherlands were the most affected, representing a 42 per cent increase compared to 2018.

Stating that this situation has led European governments to open the doors to highly qualified immigrants from all over the world, Seçkin Canan, Founder of Unusual Payroll, said: "Europe offers significant incentives on both employer and employee basis, especially for professionals working in areas such as technology, product management, digital marketing and business development. In this way, Europe, which attracts highly qualified migration from countries such as Turkey, India and the USA, has increased its labour force in the technology sector to over 2.3 million in a short period of 5 years."

Difficulty in accessing labour force in the Netherlands increased by 47 points

Stating that the Netherlands, which has recently become one of the important centres of the technology sector, attracted attention in the report on the labour shortage experienced by Europe, Seçkin Canan said, "Compared to 2018, the difficulty of accessing the talents sought by employers in the Netherlands increased by 47 points in 2023. Two out of every three employers in the Netherlands (66%) see the difficulty of accessing qualified labour among the top three most serious problems, and with this rate, it ranks second among 21 countries. Suffering from the difficulty of accessing talent, employers in the Netherlands are focusing on both increasing salaries and taking advantage of talent pools in different markets through high-skilled migrant programmes offered by the government."
