With March 22nd marking World Water Day, water crisis and conservation are once again the main topics on the agenda. A ceramic and sanitaryware brand that implements a 0% waste product and 0% wastewater policy, aiming to leave a more livable future for the next generations, enables consumers to save water with its eco-friendly products.
TURKEY - The arrival of World Water Day has brought the issue of water scarcity and sustainability back into focus. According to data compiled by Water.org, today 2.2 billion people lack access to clean water, and 703 million people do not have any water access at all. The current climate change scenario also indicates that by 2030, nearly half of the world's population will live in areas with a high water shortage. Moreover, with water scarcity, glaciers are melting, precipitation patterns are changing, and natural disasters such as floods are occurring. However, not only individual but also industrial water use is not being controlled. While industrial water use accounts for 22% of global water consumption, local companies are taking measures focused on sustainability with wastewater management.
M. Süreyya Çağlar, Director of Seramiksan, which implements a 0% waste product and 0% wastewater policy for a better future for the next generations, made the following statement regarding the issue: “With the rapid increase in the world's population and the consequent rise in consumption, industrial production is being stimulated, bringing with it negatives such as water wastage. This situation makes it mandatory for companies operating in different sectors to implement wastewater management. We minimize the use of water in all our business processes in line with our sustainability policies and recycle wastewater.”
Süreyya Çağlar said, “With our 0% waste product policy, we process our ceramic wastes at our recovery facility and reintroduce them into the production process as raw material. With our 0% wastewater policy, we recycle the wastewater generated during production activities at our treatment plant, conducting our business processes in harmony with nature. We also design our sanitaryware products based on these functions to help our customers save water.”
He concluded his remarks by saying, “With our water-saving toilets that provide impeccable cleanliness with 2.5/4.5 liters of water, we offer bathroom solutions for a sustainable world. With our ‘Hygiene is Everyone's Right’ motto, we use Seramiksan Hygiene surface technology, which prevents the formation of bacteria by 99.9%, in all our products to reduce the use of water and detergents, creating healthy and eco-friendly bathrooms. The Vortex Flushing System also allows for more powerful and quieter washing with less water, promising higher hygiene with high-performance toilet cleaning. The Hill Smart Urinal, which saves water by adjusting water usage during frequent use and performs a self-cleaning flush if not used for 24 hours, also contributes to conservation with a water consumption of only 0.8 liters.”
