One of the sectors globally targeted by cyber attackers is the logistics sector. Global research shows that the costs of cyber attacks in the transportation and logistics sector have increased by 200% in 18 months.

TURKEY - Cybersecurity has risen to the top of the business world's risk agenda in recent years. The logistics sector is among the sectors affected by this trend. A global study revealed that the costs of cyberattacks in the logistics sector have significantly increased in the past 18 months. According to the report, cyberattacks have cost organizations in the logistics sector an average of $545,000 over the last three years. This figure is stated to be 200% more than the results of the research in 2022. Istanbul Logistics Services, which has turned data and information security into one of the priority topics of the 2024 agenda, has taken an important step in this regard. Istanbul Logistics, which processes its customers' confidential personal, medical, and financial data, has chosen SearchInform as its data loss prevention (DLP) solution.

The average cost of ransomware attacks is $3.2 million

The study indicated that the average costs of attacks, known as ransomware attacks, where the attacker infiltrates the data system and demands ransom for the stolen data, were around $3.2 million. Nail Er, the IT Director of Istanbul Logistics, a company providing services across a wide geography and digitalizing many processes, expressed their belief that building trust is rooted in a full commitment to information security, “Experts from Nexta Solution Consulting, the Turkish partner of SearchInform, a global company serving nearly 3,000 customers in 20 countries, shared with us the benefits of the DLP solution. During the free trial period, we saw that the solution perfectly met our needs.”

“A proactive solution that does not slow down business processes”

Nail Er, emphasizing that as a brand that has gained significant position in the global market, they execute logistics service in three phases: project, methods, and operations, said, “Responsible and qualified employees of Istanbul Logistics, specialized in storage and distribution in Europe as well as in air, road, rail, and combined transportation, recognize the sensitivity of the data we process and the efficiency provided by the SearchInform solution. We use the SearchInform DLP solution to control the transfer of confidential personal, medical, and financial data via mail servers and messaging programs. In addition, we ensure the protection of data stored in corporate infrastructure, transmitted to printers, and used in applications with SearchInform DLP. The proactive working method of the solution, enabling the reduction of internal threats which are increasingly rising in the cyber threat landscape, impresses us significantly. Moreover, business processes are not affected by this speed.”

“We provide full protection against internal threats and data leaks”

Elena Varol, the Regional Manager of SearchInform Turkey, highlighted that SearchInform has been developing information security solutions since 2004, and these solutions are currently used by more than 3,000 businesses in over 20 countries, “Istanbul Logistics Services is a company aware of its social responsibility.
