Anatolia, which exports the ceramics and natural stones it procures from different countries to various parts of the world, especially the USA and Canada, was selected as the brand that exported the most in its sector in 2023 by the Aegean Exporters’ Association.

TURKEY - Local ceramic brands continue to succeed by contributing to the country's economy through their activities abroad. Most recently, Anatolia Natural Stone and Ceramic, which exports ceramic and natural stone products sourced from different countries to various regions of the world, including the United States and Canada, was named the top exporter in the ceramic and pottery products sector in 2023 at the Export Stars Awards Ceremony organized annually by the Aegean Exporters' Associations. The award was presented to Mr. Şemun Alp Biber, the General Manager of Anatolia, by Ömer Gökhan Tuncer, the President of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, and Jak Eskinazi, the Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters' Associations.

Anatolia’s General Manager, Şemun Alp Biber, expressed his thoughts on the matter: "I would like to thank all our colleagues who have contributed to our achievement of sectoral export leadership in the Aegean region. At the end of last year, we started production with the commissioning of our factory in Izmir Aliağa, and our goal is to become the export champion in our industry nationwide.”

“They will produce 10 million square meters annually.”

Anatolia’s General Manager, Şemun Alp Biber, stated that they produce technical porcelain tiles in sizes of 1.6 x 3.2 and 1.2 x 2.8 meters in a facility with 200,000 square meters of covered area. He said, “We have introduced our initial products to the market. In September, we showcased them in Italy and at the Istanbul exhibitions in November. The assembly of our facility's second and third lines will also be completed soon. With an investment of 250 million dollars in these three lines, we aim to achieve an annual total production of 10 million square meters.”

“Depending on the development of the business and the market conditions, we will increase our number of lines to 11 within 3 years. The total investment cost will reach 500 million dollars when these lines are completed. As a result of our investments, we currently employ 500 people, with 300 of them in Canada and the United States. When our first 3 lines become operational, the number will increase to 600; when all lines are operational, it will exceed 800.”

“Our products are processed automatically without manual intervention until they fit into the box.”

Şemun Alp Biber stated, “We produce entirely value-added products. Like our product portfolio, our facility has a unique production technology model. Raw material preparation and stocking are done entirely automatically. The product remains untouched until it fits into the box. Our large-sized ceramics are primarily used for kitchen countertops. Compared to their counterparts, such as quartz, marble granite, and MDF, they offer advantages like scratch resistance, heat resistance, hygiene, and limitless design options, which is why the market for these products is steadily growing. We have been working on product designs for 2 years now. We believe that we can elevate these products to another level with methods that have not been previously employed worldwide.”

“We will obtain the Platin LEED Certification”

Anatolia’s General Manager,  Şemun Alp Biber, also highlighted their plan to install a solar energy power plant (GES) on the facility's roof. He stated, "A solar application of 200,000 square meters on a single roof is very rare worldwide. We began the assembly of our project last year. With a production capacity of 21.5 megawatts, we will meet all the electricity needs of the first 3 lines from here. We have an investment in wastewater recycling. We will recycle all our water and solid waste. We aim to obtain the highest level of LEED Certification for green buildings. We also want to transform our facility into a center for innovation and R&D in this field.”
