DOMiNO Ventures, a Netherlands-based venture capital fund that invests in globally focused technology startups in Artificial Intelligence, Gaming and Web3, has strengthened its growth and strategy targets by adding experienced businessman Aclan Acar to its management team.

TURKEY - DOMiNO fund, which focuses on early-stage technology startups that compete in the global market in Turkey, Eastern Europe and Central Asia with its experienced team, operates with offices in Estonia, Poland, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, in addition to Amsterdam and Istanbul. The DOMiNO team, which started investments in July 2022, has made 18 investments in 15 months and aims to increase the number of startups in its portfolio to 42.

DOMiNO Ventures founder and managing partner Mustafa Kopuk stated that Aclan Acar joining the management team would significantly contribute to the fund's strategic goals. Kopuk said, “We are delighted to welcome Aclan Acar to our management team. Mr Acar's extensive experience, leadership skills, and deep industry knowledge will enrich our investment strategies and enable us to assess potential opportunities in the sector more effectively.”

Starting his career in 1974 at Halk Bankası, Aclan Acar continued his banking career at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey from 1978, serving in various institution departments until 1990. Throughout his career, Aclan Acar held leadership roles in various sectors and was a board member in various institutions within the Doğuş Group. He also held important positions, such as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Garanti Sigorta A.Ş. and Garanti Emeklilik A.Ş. Additionally, from 2006 to 2018, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Doğuş Otomotiv Servis Ticaret A.Ş. and Doğuş Oto Pazarlama A.Ş. Furthermore, he served as an independent board member on the Board of Directors of Tüpraş A.Ş. and actively participated as a member on the boards of trustees of TED University, TED Istanbul College, and TÜSİAD.
