As brain drain rates rapidly increase worldwide, this situation is becoming a critical problem for developing countries. Research reviewed by the Online PR Service B2Press reveals that 73% of individuals aged 18-25 in our country want to live abroad, with records indicating that young people prefer European countries the most.

TURKEY - Brain drain is increasing day by day worldwide. Many people, aiming for a better life, migrate to different countries to take advantage of employment or quality education opportunities. The Online PR Service B2Press research on the subject revealed that Turkey is ranked 132nd among the 177 countries most abandoned due to braid drain. According to the data covering 2007-2022, in the brain drain index, where Syria is ranked 11th and Afghanistan 12th, the countries with minor migration were Australia, Sweden, Norway, Canada, and Denmark, respectively.

Online PR Service B2Press, highlighting that brain drain is becoming a critical problem for developing countries like Turkey, provides a different perspective on migration mobility based on data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT). While statistics show that the majority (55.7%) of the 287,652 people who migrated from the country abroad are men, B2Press’s studies indicate that migration is increasingly becoming prevalent among Generation Z women in Turkey.

The basis for 43% of migrating women is to live a free life.

According to the research in which the Online PR Service B2Press analysed the effects of life satisfaction level and personality characteristics on the desire to migrate, it is recorded that Generation Z women who want to settle in another country permanently are dissatisfied with their lives and don’t want to be subject to identity discrimination. Of the participant who wants to settle abroad permanently, 39.4% say that the desire to increase their income is among the reasons. 35.1% also suggest the need for quality education as a reason to go to another country, and this trend is observed among other young people of the same age group.

30.6% of young people want to live in European countries

Online PR Service B2Press, reviewing the research of the Germany-based Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Association, states that 73% of young people aged 18-25 in Turkey want to live abroad.  55.2% of the young people who say that unemployment in Turkey has reached a disturbing level also respond that they are neither completely happy nor unhappy when asked about their satisfaction and happiness. 30.6% of the young people who listed the regions they wanted to migrate to prefer European countries, while 15% want to go to the United States. The rate of those who want to live in Canada remains at 12%, and 9.6% of the participants also desire to migrate to the Scandinavian region, which has the most minor migration.
