TURKEY - The healthy lifestyle trend, which has become increasingly widespread after the pandemic, directs consumers to fresh vegetables and fruits in food shopping. PAZARDAN, which buys the fresh products from the market stalls and delivers them directly to the consumers with the application it has developed, sheds light on the changing habits and preference criteria of consumers in food shopping in the 2022 Attitude and Behavior Research that it has recently published and conducted with 200 female consumers in Istanbul. In the study, in which people from different ages, professions and education groups participated, the opinions of consumers about where they do their shopping the most and online shopping channels are also discussed.

When asked how often they consume fruit and vegetables in the study, 54% of the people answered this question every day, while 23% answered 4 to 5 times a week. People who have a share of 18%, stating that they have increased their fruit and vegetable consumption in the last 3 years, also say that this increase is due to the desire for a healthy life. 40% of the participants claim that they keep the price advantage in the background when shopping for fruits and vegetables and state that the most important criterion in their shopping is 'freshness'. Based on the information obtained from Pazardan, 7 out of 10 people report that the freshest fruits and vegetables can be purchased from the neighborhood markets, where they are delivered directly to the consumer, starting from the producer, and they do their shopping from these stalls.

In his research, which examines consumer habits from the market, he also focuses on the effect of digitalization on these behaviors. Accordingly, two-thirds of consumers are now shopping through online channels. While the first reason for the shift of shopping to online applications is that these applications save time, these applications or platforms create discounts or campaigns in the ranking. According to the data announced, 71% of consumers want to be able to shop not only for ready-made food products, but also for fruit and vegetables in neighborhood markets through online applications. It creates a new category in e-commerce and leads the digital transformation of marketers, by offering online shopping opportunities from the local markets.
