ISTANBUL (TR) - Talking at the Bioexpo Fair, Sartonet General Manager Ömer Erdem said: “We set out to convey the knowledge we have accumulated over 40 years to our ecosystem and to the next generations. We have prepared the Academy building only for these trainings. In our trainings, product or company promotion was never made. The trainings here are in the form of application examples and sharing our knowledge. We invite everyone who is an expert in their field to share what they know at Sartonet Bilgi Academy.”

Ömer Erdem stated that with the Ministry of Health becoming a member of PIC/s in 2018, compliance with international regulations has become more important than ever before and this led to the establishment of Sartonet Information Academy. We knew that there was not enough information in the industry on filter selection and filter validation. Since these regulations were in effect much earlier in the world, we aimed to share our knowledge and experience with our country. We decided to take responsibility for complying with these regulations, which we think will make the pharmaceutical manufacturers in Turkey stronger in international competition, and since 2018, we have organized many seminars in Istanbul and Ankara.

During the pandemic, trainings were held online

Stating that they quickly moved these trainings online with the onset of the pandemic, and that they continued to provide these trainings online to IEIS (Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Turkiye) members and other drug manufacturers, Erdem said, “We are so happy to share what we know that we are so happy to conduct these trainings in a building prepared only for these posts and to make our academy all over the world. With the idea of ​​making it an information center for our ecosystem, we have established the Sartonet Information Academy by dedicating our building next to our office in Koşuyolu only for education purposes.”

Many trainings are given in different fields

Referring to the trainings given, Ömer Erdem said, “The selection of the right filter, filter validation and tests trainings we provide to pharmaceutical manufacturers consist of many sub-titles. We receive a large number of training requests on subjects such as the Bacteria Challenge Test, Integrity Test (Filter Strength Test), Extractable & Leachable Test, which are underlined by the authorities. These issues are not yet fully settled in the human pharmaceutical industry. Moreover, similar developments are taking place for veterinary drug manufacturers on these issues, which are asked to be answered by the inspectors. We also share what we know about products such as scales and pipettes used in laboratories within the framework of regulations and efficiency. In addition, there is something we would like to share in the beverage industry, especially regarding contamination.”

“We designed interactive trainings”

Underlining that they do not promote products or brands in any way during the trainings, Erdem said, “We explain international standards, the truth on current issues, what the authorities want and how manufacturers can respond to these requests. This approach both surprises and delights those who attend our trainings. Here, we have designed interactive trainings where participants can touch, test and find answers to their questions, such as various filters. We want everyone who is trained here to create value in their personal careers by gaining competence in filter and filter validation processes or related subjects. In summary, I think that we have not fulfilled our duty to our Republic properly. That's why this academy has always been my dream. I would like Sartonet Knowledge Academy to be a knowledge sharing center where we share what we know, where experts come and train on various subjects, and contribute to the development of our country."
