ISTANBUL (TR) - In recent years, video games have evolved from being just games to new and competitive sports branches. Turkey took a pioneering step in 2018 and set forth its goal of becoming a strong player in this field with the Turkish Esports Federation (TESFED), established under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Reaching a market volume of 1 billion dollars in 2021 and aiming to increase this figure to 1.6 billion dollars by 2024, Turkey, which has achieved success stories with young pilots such as Cem Bölükbaşı, who moved from simulation to real tracks, is preparing for new successes under the leadership of young entrepreneurs who believe in the potential of esports. Established in Ankara, Turkey's first and only esports simulation center, Apex Racing, aims to bring young talents who will bring new international successes to our country from simulation to reality.

Sharing his views on Turkey's potential in esports and its contributions to this issue, Apex Racing Co-Founder Berkay Erdoğan said, “Our country hosts important esports teams in terms of both national competitions and international successes. As the esports community in Turkey, we draw attention to the global esports environment with the tournaments and trophies we won, and we also achieve successes carried from the virtual environment to reality with names such as Cem Bölükbaşı. As Turkey's first and only esports simulation center, Apex Racing, we are operating to bring talented young pilots to real tracks with our 'from simulation to reality' principle by providing the closest experience to track racing with our state-of-the-art equipment."

Realistic experiences for racing enthusiasts

Noting that they aim to make motorsports and esports accessible to everyone with lifelike experiences, Apex Racing Co-founder Ali Kerem Ureten said, “In this context, we established Turkey's first and only simulation center in the field of esports in Ankara last year. Racers; as the authorized dealer of equipment and game technology companies such as Sparco, Thrustmaster, Fanatec, can experience games such as Gran Turismo 7, F1 2021, F1 2020, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo Sport, Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally 2.0 and Iracing in the cockpits we designed with state-of-the-art equipment and realistic equipment. We also collaborate with our mission to carry successful pilots from the virtual environment to the real tracks. As the 'Technology Sponsor' of the Mobile Training Simulator project of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), we are working to discover talents open to development in this field in Anatolia.”

“We will form our team”

Emphasizing that esports branches reach more people and are adopted by more and more institutions each year, Apex Racing Co-Founder Berkay Erdoğan concluded his evaluations with the following words: “Turkey shows its potential in this regard by signing national and international events. While Istanbul is preparing for the Global Esports Games of the Global Esports Federation at the end of this year, Ankara hosted the Ankara Youth and Esports Festival at the end of March. As Apex Racing, we hosted our Vice President Fuat Oktay in our professional cockpit during this event. We started working to establish our esports and karting teams as Turkey's first and only esports simulation center to support the development of esports in the country and increase our representation power abroad. As Apex Racing, we aim to make a name for ourselves on both virtual and real tracks in the future.”
