ISTANBUL (TR) - The tight monetary policy of the US central bank Fed, combined with the Russia-Ukraine war and quarantines in China, recorded significant decreases in American stock markets in May. Stable stocks of established companies listed on the Dow have lost 14% since the start of the year, while the S&P 500 recently fell 20% from its January 3 peak. One of the most considerable losses in value was in the Nasdaq stock exchange, where technology companies, which have seen a 27% decrease since the beginning of the year, are listed. On the other hand, despite the shrinking and stagnating global economy, the interest of individual investors in stock markets did not decrease. The global research report prepared by Bank of America (BofA) emphasized that individual investors have been the largest buyers of US stocks since the beginning of the year and that they followed an aggressive strategy despite the declines.

Finfree's Founder and CEO, Senih Mete Dal, who shared his evaluations on the changes in the markets and investor interest, said, “Although the US stock markets are within the pessimistic borders of the bear markets in May, it seems that investor interest has not decreased. We can say that this is because retail investors have longer-term goals. As the new generation investment platform Finfree, we set out with the vision of presenting all their investment needs in a single application so that investors can realize their long-term goals. In this context, we are starting the period of investing in American stocks through Finfree very soon.”

“Diversifying market risk is the way to avoid losses”

Noting that volatility is in the nature of markets, Senih Mete Dal said, “All investment instruments directly or indirectly affected by global events contain opportunities and risks shaped by basic financial principles. At this point, retail investors need to diversify their market risk to avoid losses. Choosing different investment instruments or stock markets shaped by different variables and designing the investment portfolio helps distribute the risk on various instruments. As Finfree, aiming to simplify stock market investment, we will offer individual investors the opportunity to invest in American stock markets to enable them to diversify their market risks.”

“We provide a competitive advantage to individual investors”

Pointing out that applications that offer different investment instruments on a single platform help protect investors from sudden value losses, Finfree Founder and CEO Senih Mete Dal concluded his evaluations with the following statements: “Finfree, the new generation investment platform, aims to provide all needs such as investment training, fundamental analysis and portfolio tracking in a single application. Since the day we were founded, we have provided all our users who want to invest in the Turkish stock market the opportunity to trade both with the data we provide and with Turkish shares since the beginning of 2022. We are turning Finfree into an investment platform by including the American markets on the platform very soon. Finfree, which allows to quickly see the status, growth, profitability and valuation of foreign stocks without deep finance and stock market knowledge, makes it easier for individual investors to compete with corporates. Through the virtual portfolio, even those starting from scratch can develop their financial literacy and market interpretation skills without taking risks.”
