ISTANBUL (TR) - While the economic fluctuations around the world require not only companies but also individuals to make smart financial decisions, the level of literacy in this field is increasing day by day. A study conducted by Boğaziçi University Analytics and Insight Research Center draws attention to the fact that Turkey's Financial Literacy Index has reached 60.8. It is seen that the average financial literacy score is equal to 62.7% of the highest score, while in a similar study conducted by the OECD in 26 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America, the same rate is calculated as 62% for OECD member countries.

While financial literacy increases in our country, online trading platforms continue to rise. From online banking services to internet shopping, many individuals from different age groups found their needs on online platforms. Such behavioral changes, which digitalization opened the door, gradually turned into a habit. Anne Kmel, Special Projects Specialist of Binomo, an online trading platform that discloses its data on the Turkish market, makes the following statement on the subject: “We, as Binomo, made a rapid entry into 2022 after the 2020-21 period, which we also spent productively in this process. Compared to January and February, we achieved 33% growth in March. We believe that this growth will increasingly continue in the future.”

“Traders in Turkey are much more social and helpful”

Commenting on the secrets of their success in Turkey and trader profiles, Anne Kmel said, “Our community, both globally and in Turkey, is growing rapidly. This means more and more people are gaining financial literacy and reaching digital maturity. I can say that individuals interested in online commerce in Turkey differ from other markets. One of them is that they are more helpful and social. They focus not only on individual gains, but also on advancing by supporting each other.”

The financial world is growing digitally, Turkish investors stand out with helpfulness

Binomo Special Projects Specialist Anne Kmel, who stated that they want to achieve the same goal globally by taking the wind of the growth they have achieved in Turkey, said, “We serve 850 thousand people who want to earn additional income from 133 countries every day and we perform 30 million transactions per week. We enable people to gain financial literacy while earning additional income, and we also help them connect with new people interested in this field. Our community, both globally and in Turkey, is growing rapidly. This means more and more people are gaining financial literacy and reaching digital maturity. I can say that individuals interested in online commerce in Turkey differ from other markets. Chief among these is that they are more helpful and social.”
