ISTANBUL (TR) - Çağatay Özdemir, who set out with the idea of "following the transformation" by rejecting the corporate life, brought together the notes he took by tracing his inner journey in his book called Awakening Journey. It invites people trapped in the monotony of the first of the 3-book series to a real adventure that includes all the fun, adventurous, fantastic, romantic and dramatic elements of life.

Incorporated travel into its life cycle

The traveler, who makes travel not a short break and includes it in his life cycle, guides those who do not have the courage to draw their own destiny in his book called Awakening Journey. Çağatay Özdemir, who has turned his hobby of travel into a passion by discovering different land parts, animals, people and tastes in many parts of the world since the age of 19, made the following evaluation about his book: “My book, which consists of notes I took during my travels, serves as a compass for those who want to draw their own destiny. In the lines of the book, the readers will witness a true rebirth adventure of a young person who thinks he can do nothing to be happy and is about to leave himself to the cool waters of Marmara, scraping it with his own nails, all over the world. I present my notes, which I wrote in cities of different countries, in unknown cities, in run-down hostel rooms, train cars, or in the homes of people I have never met, as the transformation story of a young person. I believe that readers who close the cover of the book will open the iron doors in which their souls are imprisoned and will take up the pen to write their own stories.”

Planted the seeds of change at the age of 7

Saying that he aims to create new inspirations for those who want to make sense of their lives with the stories he tells in his book, Çağatay Özdemir gave the following information about the development of the book: “The seeds of change in my life were sown with the atlas I found in my father's library when I was 7 years old. I learned that Turkey is just a piece of land and I always dreamed of going farther. At the age of 19, my life completely changed with my first abroad experience in America. Since then, I have traveled to more than 40 countries, from Lebanon to Singapore, from Cambodia to Australia, from Indonesia to India and Hong Kong. In order to turn the notes I took during my travels into a book, I took a 5 month seclusion in a tree house in Kabak district of Fethiye in 2020. I could not fit my notes consisting of thousands of pages that I have kept since 2017 in a single book. My book, Awakening Journey, has the distinction of being the first of a series of 3 books.”

I made a living by crocodile keeping and farming

Mentioning that in the first book of the series he describes a deep journey that goes back to his own life, the traveler said, “My own inner journey has accelerated and deepened with every trip I have made. I learned to be patient by getting rid of my prejudices, anger, laziness and weaknesses. By getting rid of my toxic features, I gained new virtues. By including my travels in my life cycle, I tried to survive under difficult conditions in different countries. I traveled to America twice and lived in the country for a total of 1 year. I spent 1 year in Europe and Australia and 2 years in Asia. I made my living as a farmer, forestry, crocodile watcher in Australia, photography and hostel host for a while in Thailand, party promoter in Europe and America, lifeguard and vehicle operator in the United States. I even took over the social media management of a hostel in Colombia. Skateboarding became a passion for me when I met in Australia. I continue my new travels on skateboard. My life continues like an exciting, adventurous, funny, romantic, fantastic, dramatic movie. I always make plans to go farther so that my life is worth watching.”
