ISTANBUL (TR) - With the pandemic, many people's review of their living conditions or the differentiation of their working style has also changed their demands for moving. The 2021 moving statistics research of the online platform etasin.com, which offers turnkey transportation from home to home, drew attention to the recent activity. In the research in which approximately 20 thousand relocation requests were examined, it was stated that 59% of the requests came from Istanbul, followed by Ankara with 13% and İzmir with 12%. According to the statement made by the company, it was noted that regional changes have increased with the spread of the remote working model with COVID-19 and the increase in the demand for returning to nature. The increase in demands for the Aegean and Mediterranean Regions drew attention. While the number of people moving from Istanbul to Izmir, Muğla and Antalya increased in 2021, the total demand from Istanbul to Tekirdağ, Kocaeli and Sakarya, which are close and offer cheaper house alternatives, doubled the demand for moving to Muğla. İzmir, Antalya and Mersin came to the fore in the relocation preferences of those living in the capital Ankara.

Istanbul residents flee to green districts

According to etasin.com data, relocation activity across the country in 2021 was also seen in Istanbul. Many people, who could not go out of the city to live in a nature-oriented place, found the solution in districts with plenty of oxygen. According to eTaşın's data, Pendik, Çekmeköy and Sarıyer, which offer green space and garden house alternatives, are the most preferred districts for moving in Istanbul, while the most moving to other districts was from Şişli. In Kadıköy, where the highest activity is seen in the same district, 42% of the residents of the district who moved have changed buildings, streets or neighborhoods.

93% of the movers request insured transportation

Noting that customers want to take precautions against the risk of property damage, the online house-to-door transportation platform etasin.com underlined that 93% of its customers demand insured transportation. Moving insurance, which is widely used and provides assurance against damage to goods during transportation, was among the priorities of those who made the decision to move. In their statement on the subject, eTaşın stated that the issue of cleaning came to the fore in the moving processes with the pandemic, and that women customers demand 2 times more than men for post-transport cleaning and disinfection, another service they offer.

“We grew by 343% in 2021 with high customer satisfaction”

Etasin.com Co-Founder Kadir Nezih Elgün made the following assessment about the company's performance in 2021: “In the last period, where digital transformation has increased rapidly, we see that the moving processes should move out of the traditional structure and develop towards the needs of the customers. In order to meet this need in the moving industry, we offer services that complete the relocation, such as cleaning, placing, storage, disinfection, lock replacement and paint/whitewash, in addition to shipping. In order to make moving operations more sustainable, we preferred durable and reusable boxes and saved more than 10 thousand cardboard boxes in 2021. We increased customer satisfaction to 4.81 out of 5 with both the options we offer and our sustainable business model, and we closed 2021 with a 343% growth compared to the previous year. High customer satisfaction and strong growth data show us that we will increase our momentum by making investments in the coming period and lead the digital transformation of the sector.”
