ISTANBUL (TR) - Daikin Turkey brings a breath of fresh air to the air-conditioning field with the female dealers and technicians it has brought to the sector in order to support women's employment and equal opportunity. Wishing that these projects will set an example for all companies, Daikin Turkey Board Member Neslihan Yeşilyurt said, “It is very important for the future of the whole country that women support economic employment. For this reason, we, as Daikin Turkey, are moving towards our goal by constantly increasing our female employee employment in our corporate social responsibility projects. We hope that these projects will be imitated and multiplied.”

16 ENTREPRENEURS WIN

Leading the air conditioning sector with its education and social responsibility projects as well as with its environment and consumer-friendly devices, Daikin entered the sector with the Sakura Female Entrepreneur Project, which it started in 2014 in cooperation with the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB). It brought in 16 women entrepreneurs. Daikin Turkey Board Member Neslihan Yeşilyurt stated that they are happy to bring new entrepreneurs to a sector where the number of women entrepreneurs is very low with the Sakura Program, and pointed out that 16 female entrepreneurs participating in the air conditioning sector have gone through a very intense training process. According to the information provided by Yeşilyurt, candidates learn first-hand all information about entrepreneurship, possible issues they may encounter in real life and the necessary actions against them, before going on the field with the 130-hour training program consisting of main and support modules they receive within the scope of the program.

THE STATEMENT OF 'MEN'S WORK' HAS BEEN DONE

With the "Sakura Female Technicians Project", which was implemented in 2017 with the motto "Women Do", Daikin showed that women can successfully demonstrate the technician profession, which is considered a "man's job" in the society. Today, 20 female technicians working within Daikin Turkey, together with their teams, go to construction sites and houses to fix faults and participate in project and inspection activities. As of the end of 2021, 20 female technicians continue to serve as a technical team in the air conditioning sector. Daikin Turkey will continue to bring new female technicians to the sector in 2022.

WORLD CHAMPION IN SOURCE

Daikin Turkey attaches great importance to women's employment in its production facility in Sakarya Hendek. In this context, the ratio of women working in the welding field, which is one of the important production processes, was increased to 77%. Daikin Board Member Neslihan Yeşilyurt underlined that there is no job that women cannot handle if given the opportunity, and said, “Daikin Turkey employee Aysun Poyrazoğlu's Daikin Europe N.V. and Daikin Global's welding competitions with its performance should be considered as the success of both Aysun and this project.
