ISTANBUL (TR) - Increasing its priority in life with the pandemic, health has become the leading actor of international trade. Health tourism has also increased its share in international trade. Berkay Tulpar, Deputy Chairman of the International Health Tourism Employers' Union (USTIS) and Member of the Board of Directors of the Confederation of Turkish Employers' Unions (TİSK), stated that Turkey has turned into a center of attraction in health tourism with its specialist physicians, treatment methods with the latest technologies and price advantage. Health tourism, which became active after 2020, when the period of the first half of the year, reached the limit of 2.5 billion dollars with a growth of 50% in 2021. We aim to increase this figure to 25 billion dollars in 2025 and 100 billion dollars in 2030. “These numbers seems very high, but they are not impossible goals.” Tulpar said.

“2022 will form the infrastructure of future goals”

Emphasizing that Turkey has a great potential in health tourism, Berkay Tulpar said, “As USTIS, we are working with all our strength to reveal this potential within the framework of the vision presented by the Ministry of Health. In addition to our deep experience and knowledge in health, we have succeeded in making very important innovations by turning the pandemic into an opportunity with our dynamic structure. The year 2022 will form the infrastructure of the road to the 2025 and 2030 targets.”

Hair transplant treatments take the biggest share

Berkay Tulpar, Member of the Board of Directors of TİSK, stated that hair transplant treatments have taken the largest share from health tourism and said, “We have risen to a leading position in the world, especially with the hair transplant treatments we have developed using advanced technologies. We have taken steps that reduce the difficult healing process of such treatments by 70% and increase the natural appearance by almost 100%. We have developed a new treatment method that strengthens the original hair while supporting the formation of new hair cells with stem cell application. Thus, we brought permanent values to Turkey's showcase in the world.”

The long healing process was reduced to 3 days.

Pointing out that the new technologies developed in hair transplantation treatments have completely eliminated the stage of hair cutting, USTIS Deputy Chairman Berkay Tulpar said, “With the long hair technique we developed, Long Hair Transplantation, we offered a solution to those who do not approach the treatment warmly due to aesthetic concerns. In particular, prominent people such as business people and media representatives avoid it being obvious that they have had a hair transplant. With this technique, we take the hair follicles without shortening and transfer them to the relevant area. Thus, they can return to their social lives within 2-3 days after the operation. They can even do a hair transplant on the weekend and start work on Monday.”
