ISTANBUL (TR) - The change in supply chains with the pandemic has increased the exports of the ready-made clothing and apparel industry. Europe's quest to meet its ready-made clothing needs from nearby geographies has brought an export-oriented growth performance to the sector. According to the data of IHKIB, Turkey's ready-made clothing and apparel exports increased by 19.3% in the 11-month period of 2021 compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 18.4 billion dollars. In this period, increases of up to 50% were achieved in the geographies to which countries such as Germany, Spain, England and Israel were exported the most. Stating that the new world order created by the pandemic has opened up the export of ready-made clothing and apparel, Mooi Boutique Founder Kübra Kalkan said, “This year, we exported 3 million dollars of our 10 million dollars production. In 2022, we aim to triple our production to 30 million dollars, and to increase our exports by 5 times to 15 million dollars. We will accelerate our activities in Europe with our store-building activities as well as exports. European countries and Turkic Republics are among our target markets in exports.”
Saying that they are getting ready to go on an investment tour in Europe in 2022, Kübra Kalkan made the following assessment on the subject: “We brought a new dimension to our export-oriented activities in Europe through the store we opened in the last quarter of this year by partnering with Kosovo's largest retail brand. With the investment tour, we aim to receive a very high investment, increase our product range and establish store chains in Europe, the Balkans and the Turkic Republics. We are planning to enter the shoe industry with the brand of Mooi Shoes by starting the production of shoes, slippers, boots, sandals and boots.”
Stating that they will increase the representation power of the ready-made clothing and apparel industry in Europe with innovative products bearing the signature of Turkish stylists, Mooi Boutique Founder Kübra Kalkan said, “Balkan countries have a large share in our export activities that we have been carrying out for 2 years. Kosovo chooses jeans and sweatshirts, Albania, Serbia and Bulgaria dress styles. By expanding our product range, we will increase the demand for 'Made in Turkey' labeled products.
