Implant teeth with a real dental appearance, which are placed in place of missing or problematic teeth, are among the most demanded treatment methods. Implants, which are placed in place of missing or problematic teeth by opening a socket in the jawbone, are often preferred because they offer both a natural-looking and healthy tooth structure to the patients. The first condition for implant application is that the jawbone is mature. It may take until the age of 17 for women and 18 for men for the jaw structure to reach the determined maturity stage.

Bone resorption is among the main decays 

Referring to the situations where implant treatment is needed, Dt. Utku Can Usanmaz said, “Bone resorption comes first among the causes. At the same time, the bone structure in the area where the socket is opened for the application of the implant must also be durable. In order to fulfill this condition, the area where osteoporosis begins is supported in various ways. Thus, the attachment of the implant to the socket is facilitated. Implant-supported prostheses can be made for prostheses that have started to move due to bone resorption, especially in the edentulous lower and upper jaws, and for patients who do not want to use removable prostheses, implant-supported prostheses, mouths that end without teeth after loss of molars, and removable prostheses. It takes 3 months for the implant to fuse with the bone in the lower and upper jaw. However, in some cases, prosthesis can be made right after the implant is placed with the correct diagnosis and treatment method.

The share of implants in health tourism is big

Dt. Utku Can Usanmaz pointed out that implant treatment also has an important share in Turkish health tourism: “Many patients from abroad come to Turkey for implant treatment. We are faced with an intense demand from European countries, especially from Germany. So much so that, as a health institution that has been serving under the name of Dentisland Dental Polyclinics since 2013, we launched our third branch, the Surgical Group Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic, in Avcılar as of this year. During this process, we had the opportunity to observe hundreds of patients. When we look at foreign cases in terms of treatment preferences, we can say that the implant comes first. The main goal of the smile design, also called Hollywood smile, is to achieve a more energetic and youthful appearance with a correct mouth closure and a half-moon or moon-shaped smile line.
