Public Announcement From RE/MAX on Azra Gülendam Haytaoğlu Murder
03.08.2021
GENERAL

It has been announced that the body of Azra Gülendam Haytaoğlu, a student of Akdeniz University Communication Faculty Journalism Department, who has not been heard for 5 days, has been reached. RE/MAX Turkey has released an announcement to the public about the murder suspect Mustafa Murat AYHAN, who is a real estate agent in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya and is a Board Member of the TMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers Antalya Branch. In the written statement made by the company, "The murder suspect Mustafa Murat AYHAN was immediately expelled from the RE/MAX system, and the franchise agreement was terminated unilaterally."

In the continuation of the statement, RE/MAX Turkey said, “As RE/MAX Turkey, we are in indescribable pain to learn that another young woman has been brutally murdered. The fact that Mustafa Murat AYHAN, the murder suspect of this murderous murder, owns a RE/MAX franchise office has also created a great sadness for us.

Under the umbrella of RE/MAX, we have acted with the awareness that strengthening the social role of women is our primary responsibility. We carried the same responsibility in choosing the people we would work with and come together with. We carefully evaluated the criminal records, references and professional history of all independent franchise office owners (brokers) that will be included in the RE/MAX system. Despite carrying out such a meticulous process, we regret on behalf of our community that the murder suspect who cut Azra away from life is named after us.

As RE/MAX, we will continue to work with all our strength to create awareness and a meaningful impact on the society after this grave event.

We believe that this sad event will be clarified in all its aspects and that those responsible will receive the heaviest punishment. We wish God's mercy on Azra, and our condolences to her grieving family and relatives.
