The companies that received awards in the “Hayalimiz Benzer İş Birliği Program”, in which Zer, a company operating in the field of procurement and supply chain management under the Koç Group, evaluated responsible consumption and production projects, were announced.

ISTANBUL (TR) - Setting out with the message “Our responsibilities for our future are common, our dreams are similar”, Zer brought together more than 500 customers from different sectors and more than 20 thousand suppliers to take their responsibilities for a sustainable future. As a result of 44 project applications that answered the call, 7 companies that received awards were determined.

Tekfen Agricultural Research and Eczacıbaşı Building Materials were awarded in the application category of “Hayalimiz Benzer İş Birliği Program”, and ISS Facility and Management Services and Ankyra Reklam's projects in the idea category. Akplas Plastik and the projects of Yemekhane and Parıltım, which operate in the collective catering sector, received the incentive award.

Projects ranging from sustainable agriculture to recycling advertising materials

The projects aiming to protect the environment and natural resources and change the way of life accordingly, focus on many different areas from sustainable agriculture to energy saving, from recycling to raising awareness of environmental awareness.

Tekfen Agricultural Research, which received an award in the application category, promotes sustainable agriculture by remote monitoring humidity, temperature and autonomous fertilization with digital tools. Eczacıbaşı Building Materials, on the other hand, recycles the waste heat from ceramic furnaces during production with the innovative solution it has developed and uses it for hot water needs.

ISS Facility and Management Services, which received an award in the idea category, aims to provide its customers with a service that will allow more companies to save energy thanks to digital energy tracking systems. Ankyra Reklam, which operates in Ankara, aims to recycle printed fabrics used in outdoor advertising with the ‘Neşeli Kilimler ve Çantalar’ project and to include women's labor force in this transformation.

Projects were evaluated in four criteria

Within the scope of ‘Hayalimiz Benzer İş Birliği Program’, which companies can apply with their ideas or actual projects, 17 ideas and 27 application project applications were evaluated by the Selection Committee.

Grand prize, supporting the education of female students

The development of award-winning projects will be monitored by volunteer project ambassadors consisting of ZER's employees for one year, and at the end of the year, the grand prize will be presented to the company that owns the project that has made the greatest impact by being re-evaluated. Project ambassadors, who will be selected among the generation Y employees by the award-winning companies, will work in coordination with Zer ambassadors and contribute to the development of the projects.

Choosing to contribute to the society for the program's grand prize, Zer will undertake the education expenses of three high school girls by donating to the Mustafa V. Koç Scholarship Fund established within the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) on behalf of the winning company.

2020 declared as the year of solar power

Due to the intensity of the number of projects targeting the transition to solar energy in the applications made to the program, the Selection Committee decided to declare this year “Solar Power Year”. Four companies applying in this field were awarded with recognition. Mars Logistics, which has implemented solar energy systems at a scale that can meet the needs of the company and can be distributed in its facility located in Hadımköy, and Beyçelik Gestamp, Desi Kimya and Kafa Radyo, which offer idea projects for transition to solar energy, were deemed worthy of appreciation.

Thanks to the appreciation program, it was aimed to create a platform where companies who want to use solar energy can benefit from the experience and guidance of the companies in practice and a common mind can be created.
