ISTANBUL (TR) - Renesco, a Turkish energy company that operates to prevent natural resources waste by conducting research and development with leading technical universities and organizations in Turkey and the world, has made another investments. Renesco made a biogas investment in Balıkesir Karesi district. In this context, the facility, which will start generating electricity with a target of 30 MW per day in the Yaylabayır District of Karesi as of January 1, 2021, will generate 10,900 MW of electricity annually and the electricity consumption of 5000 households will be provided from this facility. In addition, 15,000 tons of organomineral fertilizers will be offered to farmers in Balıkesir annually.

Trial productions started

Renesco CEO Başar Beyazoğlu, who made statements about the investment details, said: “The facility started gas production trials in October. As of January 1, 2021, it will start to sell the electricity it generates. The size of the investment made for the biogas production department is approximately 30 million Turkish Liras. In the future, we will establish a separate production area next to the plant to obtain fertilizer from the remaining materials from biogas production. Because as Renesco, our primary goal is to recycle the fertilizer, which is our national value defined as waste, and to bring it back to the economy and the environment as electricity and organic fertilizers.”

Paying attention to the fact that the energy supply chain plays a key role in ensuring the continuity and sustainability of the sectors, Başar Beyazoğlu said, “Therefore, energy efficiency and efficient use of resources must always be prioritized. Thanks to our facilities, which are planned to be established with the investments to be made, we aim to produce electricity and fertilizers from biogas and present the end products with high financial value to the market.
