New Production Facility Investment by Ak Gıda

The leading dairy products company in Turkey, Ak Gıda acquired Gürsüt's cheese production facility which is located on a 32 thousand m² closed area in Tire Industrial Zone and offers a daily milk processing capacity of 900 tons. With this deal, Ak Gıda aims to increase its cheese production capacity and keep on growing.

A leader in the milk and dairy products industry with 5 production facilities in Turkey and a daily milk processing capacity of 4,500 tons, Ak Gıda acquired Gürsüt's production facility which is located on a 32 thousand m² area in Tire Industrial Zone (TOSBİ) and offers a daily processing capacity of 900 tons. The company plans to produce kashar cheese, white cheese, and cottage cheese as well as traditional varieties of cheese in the new cheese production facility.

Underlining the importance of the new facility for increasing cheese production capacity and for the growth of the company, Ali Sözen, President of Ak Gıda, said: "Tire holds a leadership position in terms of raw milk production, which was one of the main reason why we proceeded with new production facility investment. The close proximity of the facility to milk production regions and the fact that it will take only a very short amount of time for milk to reach the factory after it is produced will contribute to product quality positively.  Moreover, the production facility being located in an industrial zone, the solution-oriented approach of the TOSBİ administration and the support they provided were all factored in our decision to choose this region. We expect that the advanced status of the region in terms of milk and dairy products will provide us with easy access to expert human resources. This new deal will boost both our total cheese production capacity and our product variety. We will be able to produce various local cheese delicacies with this facility."

Noting that their new facility, which is located on a total area of 55 thousand m², 32 thousand m² of which is closed, is capable of processing 900 tons of raw milk daily, Sözen said: "Almost 500 new employees will be recruited in two years for our new business operation, providing employment for the region. Our facility, which features a storage capacity of 8,000 m², 4,000 m² of which is cooled, fulfills both national and international standards for quality management. Our projections indicate that our new facility will contribute greatly to our company in the cheese segment. Ak Gıda plans to continue its pace of growth with further investment projects to be implemented in line with our objectives and futuristic vision."
