ISTANBUL (TR) - With the acquisition of control of social life coronavirus outbreak in Turkey is starting to return to their old dynamic in the framework of specific measures and rules. While social distance rules remain essential, the use of face masks is increasing day by day. According to the survey study conducted by Istanbul Economics Research, the use of face masks increased by 300 per cent in three months due to the necessity of wearing masks brought in market places, shopping malls, hairdressers and public vehicles, especially in May. While the rate of those who stated that they used masks on April 17 was 20%, this rate reached 82% on June 18.

While it is predicted that the need will increase even more in the provinces where it is forbidden to go out without a mask, Vending-Turkey produced a mask vending machine to facilitate the supply of masks. Stating that they are working on the popularization of vending machines in the public domain, Vending-Turkey General Manager Hakan Erorbay pointed out that possible inconveniences can be prevented immediately.

Continuously disinfected with UVC LEDs

Mentioning that citizens who did not provide masks at the entrance to closed areas such as shopping malls, restaurants and shops where it is mandatory to wear masks, Hakan Erorbay said, “From time to time, we see that citizens do not wear masks for various reasons, and when they cannot find a pharmacy or market they can obtain, they cannot enter closed areas. As Vending-Turkey, we have developed mask vending machines that work without any touch and disinfect with UVC LEDs inside, to prevent this situation which is a risk to public health. We aim to make the packaged masks accessible to everyone at any time, with vending machines that allow payment by credit cards as well as coins.”

It will pave the way for entrepreneurs who benefit society

Pointing out that conventional vending machines create a disadvantage in terms of both cost and size for the enterprises that are operating for the benefit of society, Erorbay also underlined that they focus on a compact and economical solution in order to facilitate the spread of the mask vending machines. Erorbay said, “The mask is now a product that can be counted among the essential needs in today's epidemic conditions. However, large vending machines, which we usually use to supply food products, cannot become widespread in the supply of masks because they are costly and bulky. Based on this, we have converted our compact, cost-effective vending machines with a few modifications to the mask vending machines which we have been using for a long time to provide hygienic products in various projects. Thus, we wanted to help open the way for investors and entrepreneurs who want to take steps for the benefit of the society by providing a user-friendly alternative.”

Next up are stations and parks

Pointing out that social distance rules and the use of masks are important not only in closed areas, but also in vehicles and parks that visitors increase in the summer, Erorbay said, “Experts say that the use of masks prevents the spread of the virus by 98.5%, especially in public spaces, and if everyone uses a mask. Regardless of whether it is open-air, various locations such as stations, piers, parks, beaches, squares are not in a position to tolerate imprudent behaviour in terms of transmission risk. It is vital to comply with the precautions taken and the prohibitions introduced, although sometimes we are compromised. As a company that carries out the whole process from vending machine production to operation, our main goal is to spread mask vending machines in public spaces.”
