The Scaled Worlds Model Contest and Exhibition, which will be held for the 8th time this year by the Modelling Club Association, brings together those who love this hobby in Turkey. Organized in different branches, from airplanes to tanks, from civilian cars to animations, the competition will be held at Istanbul Mercure Altunizade Hotel on May 6-7.
TURKEY - Those who want to participate in the competition will submit their work on the morning of 6 May. In the competition, where expert judges will evaluate in the afternoon, the award ceremony and workshops will be held on Sunday, May 7th.
A special workshop will be held in the organization for children who want to discover the modeling hobby. Experienced trainers will make models with the children in the free workshop exercises.
Children between the ages of 7 and 14 will be able to take the models they have made home with them. In this workshop, our children must participate together with their parents. The number of participants in the workshop was determined as 25 people.
Focusing on different subjects every year, special presentations will be held this year on the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Armed Forces' land, sea, and air elements, due to the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
A book will also be prepared, which will consist of models participating in the competition in this category. In addition, presentations on vehicles in the Turkish Armed Forces will be held at the 8th Scale Worlds Model Competition and Exhibition.
President of the Modeling Club Association, Tahir Özcıvan, who gave information about the organization, said, “Our organization, which was held for the 8th time, is now making an impression abroad. This year, we will hold both the competition category and exhibitions and presentations for the 100th anniversary of the Republic.”
Stating that modeling makes an important contribution to both the correct use of free time and the creation of a cult for the defense industry, aviation, or motorsports in our country, Özcivan said, “Modelling is more than a hobby; it is different to the world, which increases dexterity, develops the awareness of art and history, and encourages research. offers a perspective. We welcome modelers and enthusiasts from 7 to 77 in our organization.”
