After the earthquake that sadly affected 10 cities in Turkey, thousands of buildings were destroyed, and thousands of them were damaged to an unusable state. While materials such as containers and tents are used in the preparation of urgently needed temporary shelters, the construction of permanent residences has been started by the government.

TURKEY - Karmod Senior Manager Mehmet Çankaya (CEO), “There is great benefit in commissioning the steel house system in order to rapidly build permanent residences for our 1.5 million homeless citizens. It is very easy to build permanent residences in a short time with a secure 2-story or 3-story steel house system with fast production and installation.”

3 and 4 Story Steel Houses are on the Government's Agenda

In the provinces that are within the earthquake zone, the construction of permanent residences, which are urgently needed, has started. Steel houses are included in the scope of the evaluation, as many houses in the region need to be built in a short time. Steel houses, which are planned to be projected not to exceed 3 or 4 floors, will rise on 4 flats.

The demand for earthquake-resistant prefabricated houses has skyrocketed

According to the information given by Mehmet Çankaya, the top manager of Karmod, one of the steel house manufacturers, the call center receives an average of 350 calls per day from citizens living in the earthquake zone. In line with the demands of the region, an average of 10 to 20 ready-made prefabricated steel houses are produced daily. Citizens whose houses have been damaged to such an extent that they cannot be inhabited, especially in districts and villages, come to the fore. Citizens who want to have permanent residences need to build it on their own land as soon as possible, especially prefer steel houses with fast installation.

Permanent Prefabricated Village Houses for Earthquake Victims

Prefabricated village houses can be designed and produced according to local architectural concepts. The earthquake resistance of the houses is carried out in a special software program at the same stage as the design. In this program, the region is controlled by simulations that comply with earthquake conditions. The long-lasting prefabricated house is preferred as a safe housing model in the villages and districts in the earthquake zone.

Since the steel house has a pre-production model, it has a significant advantage in construction time. Pre-production is carried out in modern factories on a belt system working with technological machines. From the wall to the roof, from the door to the window, and from the electrical and plumbing materials, the house is produced in the factory. Steel house, truck, etc., whose production has been completed on the belt line. It is loaded on transport vehicles and shipped to the desired place of use.

Economic Solution and Fastest Construction Time in Steel Houses

The installation of the steel house shipped to the place of use begins as soon as it is unloaded from the vehicle. For the installation, it is sufficient to prepare the floor concrete according to the projected plan given by the manufacturers. Steel houses do not require production in the field, as in other classical models. It is sufficient to assemble the houses produced in the factory at the installation site with a bolt, nut, and plug-in system. Construction times are shortened at an unparalleled rate, as the installation is carried out with ready-made materials produced according to the project. Field installation of a single-story or two-story steel house can be completed in 10 days.

Earthquake Victims are Finding Safety in Steel Houses as Their New Homes

The steel house model is widely used in developed European countries such as Germany, France, Finland, and Switzerland, especially the USA. The use of the steel house model in our country has only recently become widespread. The steel house, together with the carrier systems, makes the use of steel materials extremely safe, up to the wall and roof blocks. The steel raw material feature flexes left and right with its flexible structure in possible shocks. The non-fragile, flexible feature allows steel houses to stay up during earthquakes.

Steel Houses are Among The Safest Models for Permanent Housing

Steel house, which stands out, especially with its detached house preferences, is among the safest models in permanent residence. It attracts great attention as an earthquake house with the advantage of high-rise building safety. Steel houses, which are produced with bolt-nut and plug-in systems, where traditional applications such as welding are not used in their production, come to the fore with their building safety.

The steel carcasses used in the wall blocks, together with the load-bearing poles, ensure that the steel house stands as a whole during the earthquake. The wall steel system continues on the roof, and steel braids connect almost every part of the house. While the steel house, on which insulation and special coating applications are applied, saves budgets with energy savings, it adds value to the house with its architectural elegance.

Thousands of Houses Can Be Built in a Very Short Time with Steel Houses

Thousands of houses can be installed in a short time with steel houses where residential models stand out in 2+1 and 3+1 plans. While the pre-production continues in the factories, the assembly teams carry out the ready-to-use installation of the residences in the field. The steel house produced is transported to the site by trucks, and the teams install the incoming materials in order. Thousands of safe houses are built in a short time with synchronized work and offered for the permanent use of earthquake victims.

Housing Model Steel House Compatible with Horizontal Architecture

The steel house, which can be designed and produced in desired sizes according to the project on 4 flats of two and three floors, is also compatible with the horizontal architectural concept carried out by TOKİ. The need for shelter can be met in a short time by using steel houses in the preparation of permanent residences in earthquake zones.

Steel Sistem School and Health Centers

Along with housing, educational an healthcare buildings are also among the structures needed in earthquake-prone areas. Safe and long-lasting schools and health centers can be built using a steel building system. Compared to traditional building models, steel structures also provide the advantage of quick installation, not only for schools and hospitals but also for the construction of other commercial buildings.
