TURKEY - As global economic uncertainties and recession concerns lead everyone to save and make better use of savings, the concept of financial literacy has increased in importance for each generation. This has made the field known as edu-fintech, which combines financial technologies with education, more popular. Manibux, Turkey's first and only digital pocket money application developed for children, targeting the 8-18 age group, introduced its new features, especially the Digital Moneybox, at the event held on 21 December.

Manibux Founder, Psychological Counselor Canan Akmanoğlu Bayrak said, "Manibux, which we have implemented as Turkey's first and only digital pocket money application, has been renewed in order to create a behavior-based social impact with the aim of providing children with financial literacy and money management skills in a safe and fun way. Manibux aims to be a pocket money application for 18 million children in our country with its new features, especially the Digital Moneybox, which gamifies the pocket money relationship between parents and children and raises the awareness of saving among children.

Emphasizing that Manibux aims to show children that money is not only spendable, but something that can be saved and donated, Canan Akmanoğlu Bayrak said, “As a mother and psychological counselor, I believe that children can manage their own budget when they are given equal opportunities. In line with our purpose, we enriched Manibux with new features to increase financial literacy and responsibility awareness of both parents and children. Children will be able to start saving money by setting goals for themselves, request new tasks from their parents to get additional pocket money, and donate the amounts they save from their pocket money to non-governmental organizations. While Manibux succeeds in capturing children with its fun, gamified and educational interface, parents get the freedom to safely control their children's spending and raise awareness of savings to their children.

It also offers prepaid pocket money card and pocket money transfer features.

Canan Akmanoğlu Bayrak stated that in addition to the Digital Moneybox feature, Manibux offers parents the opportunity to transfer pocket money 24/7. She concluded: “Today, adults make many payments with contactless cards, both in the store and in the digital environment. In order for children to have the same experience, we also offer a secure pocket money card that they can use at school, in the canteen, in the market and on the internet. From an early age, children have the chance to control their expenses, manage their budgets, understand the value of money, and learn to make their own financial decisions in the family. With our Digital Moneybox and donation features, we increase the opportunities Manibux offers to children and parents, and we are happy to be a part of children's financial literacy education. Manibux will continue to maintain its fintech agility without moving away from its focus as an education and social impact initiative, and continue to develop in accordance with the requirements of the era.”
