TURKEY - Cloud technologies, which enable the digital transformation of business processes of enterprises, have become a standard in every industry. Research by Flexera found that four out of five businesses are adopting a hybrid cloud approach that encompasses private and public cloud platforms. The definition of the cloud as the new way of doing business for industries has made cloud platforms the new target of cyber attackers. In IBM's report titled The Cost of Data Breach 2022, it was stated that almost half (45%) of data breaches occurred on cloud platforms, and it was emphasized that the zero trust approach was effective in reducing the costs caused by the breach. The report revealed that those who do not use the zero-trust approach to cybersecurity face an average of $1 million in additional costs.

Stating that the costs of data breaches on public cloud platforms can exceed $5 million today, Hakan Hintoglu said, “Businesses that adopt new security approaches using emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, instead of accepting that data breaches are a reality of the age, can both reduce costs and protect their reputations.
