ISTANBUL (TR) - Recent research has shown that social media platforms retain their core function and promise of value even years later. A report released by Hootsuite and We Are Social in the middle of the year showed that 47.6% of respondents use social media to stay in touch with friends and family. While users have not given up on social media platforms over the years, which have faced accusations such as data breaches and commercial use of personal information without consent, concerns about data security and privacy have increased. A study by Verizon found that 4 out of 5 people are concerned about social media privacy. TouchApp, which was established to provide a social media platform experience where users can create real value and meet people with common interests, has developed new features to personalize the platform by eliminating privacy concerns.

TouchApp CEO Islam Faisal commented: “We designed TouchApp as a platform that offers a clean sharing experience and receives the interaction of people with similar interests in its focus. With our new feature, which will be launched very soon, we will integrate the personal lives of users into the application within the framework of privacy, while preserving the platform's aspect of connecting with people who share similar life views globally.”

Users will be able to share the content they want only with their family and friends.

TouchApp, which previously deleted more than 10 thousand content on the grounds that it did not comply with community values, and aimed at a more realistic digital sharing culture, aims to add a personal dimension to the platform with the new feature it has developed. Reminding that every new feature of TouchApp is based on the connection established with real life, Islam Faisal said, “Users use social media platforms to stay in touch with their friends and family members. Our new feature, which we plan to launch globally in two months, will allow TouchApp users to meet these needs by keeping the privacy of their personal lives away from the entire community. With the new feature, users will be able to choose to share their more private content only with their close circles, while sharing the content they want with the community with similar worldviews and abilities.”

“We are changing the meaning of the concept of influencer”

Underlining that fake lifestyles prevail in most of the mainstream social media platforms and that artificial and unrealistic experiences have turned into commercial tools, TouchApp CEO Islam Faisal concluded: "This weakens income models and the potential value offered by the internet. While they are uncomfortable with social media companies making money on their personal data, 2 out of 3 companies (67%) are worried about influencer fraud. As TouchApp, we are taking a step to support community leaders as well as privacy with our new update. We are taking a step to support community leaders as community leaders who create real-life value for society. We aim to position and change the meaning of the concept of influencer. While we support qualified content producers financially with our revenue sharing model, the TouchApp community will have access to more useful and valuable content. Teacher in Turkey, Within the scope of this model, which makes people from professional groups such as academics and writers more visible in the intense data flow of the internet, we currently support more than 30 people and we look forward to increasing this number.”
