ISTANBUL (TR) - The construction activities of the factory of Turkiye's first domestic electric car Togg, which will be established on an open area of approximately 1 million 200 thousand square meters in Gemlik, Bursa, are about to be completed. ABS Yapı, which has been involved in the construction activities of the factory planned to roll out the first car on October 29, 2022, by using ABS Fill Blind Formwork, announced that the factory has come to an end in the ground leveling phase with the recently added R&D building. ABS Yapı General Manager Okan Cüntay commented: “The land where Togg's Gemlik factory, which is the most prestigious industrial project of Turkey, will be built, is in an ideal location in terms of location, but it is possible to improve the ground on the building foundations and to increase the ground level on the raft foundation. It had to be raised against flooding. When such upgrades are made with natural materials suitable for compression such as crushed stone and sand, they cause serious time and cost losses. In addition, the weight of the material fill increases the soil improvement costs even more. We brought speed and cost savings to the project with the reinforced concrete raised floor constructed using the ABS Fill Blind Formworks that we brought to the construction sector during the floor raising phase of the project. At the same time, thanks to the column, arch and dome structure formed by the blind molds by shaping the concrete, we were able to completely eliminate the risks of settling, cracking and breakage that may occur over time.”

Used in an area of more than 160 thousand square meters

Stating that ABS Fill Blind Formworks are used in an area of more than 160 thousand square meters to construct the reinforced concrete raised floors of the factory, Okan Cüntay said, “Disposable molds made of recycled plastic materials allow the creation of reinforced concrete raised floors up to 300 cm in all kinds of structures, thus allowing filling in a light, fast, easy and economical way. We are honored to bring ABS Filler Blind Molds, the first domestic product group with National Technical Approval Certificate and G Mark, to Turkiye's most prestigious project.”

A safe and economical ground has been created

ABS Yapı General Manager Okan Cüntay told about the gains of raising the floor with the reinforced concrete raised floor technique, which was built using blind molds: “During the project phase, extensive studies that lasted for about 6 months were carried out and the construction parameters were determined, and these findings were later confirmed by laboratory experiments of technical universities. Within the scope of the works, the filling volume required for a total area of 160,000 square meters was reduced from 22,000 trucks to only 240 truck blind molds. Loads on soil improvement and raft foundation were reduced from 4,200 kg to 700 kg per square meter. Thus, the loads on the foundation are minimized. The duration of the activities, which were expected to last 16 thousand man-days compared to fillings with traditional materials, was reduced to a thousand man-days and a huge time saving was achieved. In the sum of these advantages, a serious economic saving has been achieved compared to material fillings. Turkiye's first domestic electric car has gained a safe and economical basis."
