ISTANBUL (TR) - The retail industry, which has felt the effects of the pandemic heavily, is struggling with customer losses as well as problems in supply chain, human resources and operational activities. This challenging process requires cost control for retailers. The Turkish Shopping Centers and Retailers Federation (TAMPF), the umbrella organization of organized retail, has created a joint purchasing platform with Zer, which operates within the Koç Group as Turkey's leading purchasing and supply chain management company, in order to strengthen the struggle of the retail industry. Through the platform, TAMPF members will be offered cost advantages, operational convenience and time savings in many categories such as logistics, packaging, material purchasing and personnel transportation services in local and international markets, and the use of digital purchasing platforms.

“We took action to heal the wounds of the industry”

Emphasizing that cost control in the retail industry has gained more importance than ever due to pandemic conditions, TAMPF Chairman of the Board Alp Önder Özpamukçu said, “In our research during the pandemic period, we have seen that cost management is one of the most important struggle areas of our members. The pandemic has opened wounds that are difficult to close in the industry. In such a difficult time, we, as the Federation, took action to do our part. In cooperation with Zer, we have developed a model that offers our members cost advantages in the areas they need. We believe that the joint purchasing platform will make significant contributions to our industry.”

“We will provide savings to the retail industry with our ecosystem”

Stating that they have opened a new door to retail and that they are planning to implement similar collaborations in different sectors, Zer A.Ş. Mehmet Apak, General Manager, said, “We have been facilitating and accelerating the business processes of companies for more than 18 years with our corporate purchasing and supply solutions, our position that acts as a safe bridge between customers and suppliers. Thanks to our ecosystem that brings together our suppliers, customers and employees, we provide effective cost savings and add sustainable value to many sectors. We believe that we will make this value even more permanent with sectoral collaborations. With this agreement, TAMPF members will be able to perform their local and global logistics, personnel transportation services and material purchases through Zer and benefit from the advantageous prices of our online order management platform ZerOnline.”
