The “Critical Digital Literacy for Teachers” project, carried out jointly by Teyit and Teacher’s Network, aims to bring the affirmation and critical thinking skills needed in the online world to schools. The handbook prepared with the teachers within the scope of the project offers application recipes, event suggestions and a concept pool.

ISTANBUL (TR) - Critical digital literacy in education: from teacher to teacher handbook was created within the scope of the “Critical digital literacy for teachers” project with the contributions of 39 teachers from 19 different provinces of Turkey and from many different branches. The project, which is carried out in cooperation with Teyit and Teacher’s Network and with the support of Heinrich Böll Stiftung Association Turkey, focuses on strengthening teachers' critical digital literacy skills and creating creative solutions together with teachers.

Application recipes, event suggestions and concept pool for teachers

Critical digital literacy in education: From teacher to the teacher, the handbook includes sections that will nurture the awareness and interest of educators in the field, as well as suggestions for activities that they can implement in learning environments.
In order to make critical thinking a common value among teachers, students and parents in the educational environment, the handbook, which gives application recipes, also offers a pool of concepts related to the field. The handbook can be accessed openly and free of charge on Teyit's Publications and Teachers Network's Publications page.

Covered many topics from confirmation to digital security in nine months

The teachers, who came together in discussions, meetings and workshops that lasted for nine months, discussed many issues such as confirmationism, media literacy, echo bells, infodemics, conspiracy theories, urban legends, pseudoscience, research techniques in digital, digital citizenship, critical thinking and digital security.
Teacher Network Change Ambassador teachers who participated in the project developed creative solutions for their colleagues, students and parents under the facilitation of Teyit and Teacher’s Network.
