Samet Zili, the founder of the famous hair salon Hairbysam, warns women in order not to encounter situations such as allergies that may occur during hair dyeing processes, and said, "The risk of allergies after dyeing hair at home is high."

Samet Zili, who lives in London and provides hairdressing services at Hairbysam, of which he is the founder, warned them not to encounter unwanted situations such as allergies in the dyeing process and said, “It is a situation that most women do not want to see in their hair. When women see white hair or want to change their hair color, they should first go to the hairdresser to have their hair dyed. For example, if you want to dye hair in the UK, you must first have your scalp tested for allergies. Those who dye their hair without this test are given heavy penalties.”

Turkish hair designer Samet Zili gave details about the hair dyes used and the dyeing process as follows:

“The substances in the dyes used in hair dyeing can cause serious allergic reactions. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that the hair dyes used are approved by the Ministry of Health and are quality products. In particular, hair dyeing processes that start at a very early age or that are done several times a month increase the likelihood of allergic conditions in the whole body, including the skin. There is a high probability of encountering such health problems in hair dyeing processes made at home by purchasing poor quality products. Women who want to dye their hair blonde apply bleach, but this can damage the skin. In addition, the vitality and shine of the hair decreases and the process of wear on the hair and skin begins.

The famous hairdresser Zili, who says “first health, then beauty”, gives information about the structure of the hair through online training in London to his colleagues who want to meet with him and shares his 18 years of experience with them.

Allergy-causing PDP substance

Samet Zili also said, “The active ingredient PDP (Paraphenylenediamine), which can cause allergies in hair dyes, is also present in temporary tattoos. In some people with sensitive skin, allergy starts when the PDP substance comes into contact with the skin for the second time. Redness, watering and itching may occur in that area. Later, the risk of infection of these areas is also very high. That's why women should work with professional hairdressers" and drew attention to the seriousness of the issue.

Do all types of hair dye cause allergies?

Stating that the price difference in hair dyes affects the decision process in choosing hair dye, Zili said, “This situation varies from person to person. However, there are two types of dyes that are the riskiest in terms of skin health and allergies. These are organic and permanent hair dyes. Organic dyes are generally among the most preferred dye types by women during pregnancy. These paints can be used in powder or liquid form. The longer it stays on the hair, the more likely it is to be exposed to side effects and allergies. I recommend that women primarily stay with their own natural hair colors.”
