ISTANBUL (TR) - The impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on the economy and working life continues. With the worldwide impact of the virus increasing, companies turned to a remote working system that allows employees to work from home. Employees, who adapt to changing conditions with this new working model, do not lean towards working in the old office layout, with the effect of the second wave scenarios, which have recently increased with the increasing number of cases. According to the WF Poly Hybrid Working Report reviewed by eOfis; It is stated that 30% of employees do not want to return to their offices full time by the end of 2021.

Pointing out that the results obtained serious messages to the business world and managers, eOfis Founding Partner Özkan Kılış said, “We design work environments that will protect human and community health through the arrangements we make in common work areas. On the other hand, for companies that work from the office on certain days of the week, we will also have user-friendly arrangements in the new period.”

“Hybrid working system will keep companies alive”

Noting that they expect the working style that has changed with the Covid-19 to become permanent, Özkan Kaliç stated that it is predicted that companies with the opportunity to work remotely will continue to work remotely even if the pandemic ends. Kaliç said, “Some companies quickly adapted to the remote working system and switched to this system. More companies will join the telework system in the near future. The hybrid working system, which is also popular with employees, will be implemented by most sectors. In the upcoming period, 68% of employers will transition to wider, more flexible home-working policies in the future. We anticipate that the hybrid working system, which provides companies with the opportunity to work both remotely and from the office, will be the star of the near future.”

"Biases to the remote working model have been broken”

Noting that the traditional work system has lost its functionality at a palpable rate with the pandemic, Özkan Kaliç said,  “There is a change in the business world. Companies that started working remotely for the first time during the pandemic began to adopt a space-independent or hybrid working model. In addition, biases to the remote working model have been significantly broken, especially at the point of efficiency. In addition, the elimination of transportation costs and time spent on the road also resulted in results in favor of the companies. In this way, the remote working model has become more understandable and applicable for teams from 15-20 people to 100 – 150 people and can be managed remotely with digital capabilities.”

“It is up to companies to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 in their work areas”

”We need to learn to live without getting caught with the virus” said Ozkan Kalic, who also recalled that the scientific world is united in the opinion that longer periods are needed to find and make the vaccine available. He added, “At the moment, it is up to companies to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 in their work areas. Within the framework of this consciousness, we, as eOfis, have raised our hygiene standards to the highest level since the beginning of the pandemic. From desk ranges to mass-used areas, we make all our offices suitable for remote employees and companies that are advancing with a hybrid working model. We also observe many sensitivities with our locations where we have open space office options. In this way, we aim to come out of this process as integrated and strengthened in the era together as well as the sectors.”
