ISTANBUL (TR) - The e-commerce and e-export seminar for SMEs in the Black Sea Region, organized by Global Rus Trade, Russia's first B2B e-commerce platform, was held digitally on Monday, September 21. The seminar was held online via Zoom application this year due to the coronavirus. 2443 companies from 108 countries attended the event, where countries of the Black Sea shore came together to discuss e-export and e-commerce issues. IdeaSoft, the e-commerce infrastructure provider representing Turkey, shared all the details about the e-commerce and e-export steps of SMEs in Turkey. Thus, Turkey was represented by a Turkish company for the first time at the event, thanks to IdeaSoft CEO Seyhun Ozkara’s comprehensive presentation.
E-commerce development trends in the Black Sea region, methods of increasing and promoting e-commerce, product and service channels, the main problems faced by SMEs when entering foreign markets and ways to eliminate them were discussed with the advice of dozens of successful and experienced business people in the sector. The seminar will also complete the BSPPF-supported “E-Commerce Opportunities for SMEs: Increasing Exports and Opening New Markets” project carried out by the international B2B platform for cross-border e-commerce.
IdeaSoft CEO Seyhun Özkara, who stated that the seminar is crucial for cooperation in cargo (logistics) and payment systems for SMEs to sell abroad, shared the details of the IdeaExport platform for the first time. Özkara said, “Turkey is gaining momentum from year to year in e-commerce. 9,500+ users using the IdeaSoft infrastructure have sold over 21 million products since January. Over the years, we have observed the problems faced by companies that want to make e-export, with our sectoral experience of more than 15 years. One of the main problems SMEs experience in the e-export process is that they do not know the language of every country they want to sell online at a level appropriate for trade. With IdeaExport, which we developed in order to eliminate currency, translation mechanism and similar problems, companies can sell their products in any country with a single click and automatic translation option without the need to know the language. As IdeaSoft, our aim is to eliminate the difference between a product sold from Ankara to Van or America and to pave the way for e-export. There are many successful companies in Turkey that add power and strength to global e-export. I think this number will increase day by day with IdeaExport.”
The chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Russian Trade, who represents Russia, one of Turkey's main trading partners, and hosts the seminar, Ms Anna Nesterova shared her views on the following cooperation between Russia and Turkey and said, “As a Platform, we aim to further grow economic relations in terms of e-exports and e-commerce between Turkey and the Black Sea region countries - Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Ukraine and Greece. Ideasoft's presentation at this seminar, which represented Turkey, was very effective in this respect. We know the potential of Turkey and we hope that investments related to e-exports will gain momentum. As one of Russia's main trading partners, export increasing between Turkey and Russia will benefit economic relations for today and tomorrow.”
